- Day 01: Fly Beijing to Lhasa 3650Mt, 60Km Hotel on B.B
You will be landing at Gongkar airport and then driving to Lhasa at the distance of 60 Km and it would take you around an hour drive. On the way you will be visiting Nyethang stone carved Bhudha.
- Day 02: Lhasa Visit Potala Palace and Jokang temple. Hotel on B.B
Jokang temple was built in the 7th century by one of the greatest Tibetan Kings called Songtsen Gampo. The temple is located just in front of your hotel and you can visit the Barkor street after the sightseeing of Jokang temple.
Potala Palace is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama,built originally in the 7th century and expended to the present size by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. The Potala Palace is thirteen stories high and it has more than 1000 rooms.
- Day 03: Lhasa/sightseeing, Drepung and Sera monasteries. Hotel on B.B
Drepung monastery is the largest monastery in Tibet, built in the 15 th century by Jamyang Choeje who is one of Tsongkapa’s foremost disciple. The monastery is beautifully located up in a hill at the distance of 7 Km from the old section of the city and it is the biggest monastery in Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery has four main colleges with numerous small chapels and house chapels, known as Khangtsen in Tibetan. There are around six hundred monks nowadays. Sera monastery was founded in around 15th century by Jamchen Choeje who is another famous disciple of Tsongka pa and it is the second largest monastery of Tibet. There are three big colleges with numerous chapels and house chapels. The most attraction to visit this monastery is to see the monks debating which hold from 3-5Pm everyday apart from Sunday.
- Day 04 Sightseeing Lhasa, Norbu Lingka, Ramoche temple. Hotel on B.B
Norbu Lingka is the first summer Palace which was founded by the seventh Dalai Lama in 18 th century and the first Palace Kelsang Podrang was also constructed as the same name as the 7 th Dalai Lama, Kelsang Gyatso. The eight Dalai Lama Jampel Gyatso (1758-1804) did more initiated work on the Norbulingka, expending the gardens and digging a lake which can be found south of the new summer Palace. The thirteenth Dalai Lama (1876-1933) was responsible for the three Palaces in the north west corner of the park and the fourteen the Dalai Lama built the new summer Palace in 1956. Nowadays there are some monks who are taking care of the Palace. Ramoche Temple was founded in the 7 th century by King Songtsen Gampo’s Chinese consort, princess Wencheng to house the image of Jowo Shakyamuni that is in Jokang temple in the present day. Originally Ramoche temple was built in Chinese style but after being destroyed by fire, the present three storeyed building was constructed in Tibetan style. In 15 th century, Ramoche was placed under the authority of Kunga Dondrup who is a second generation student of Tsongkapa. Since then Ramoche has become the assembly hall of the Gyuto Tratsang, the Upper Tantric College of Lhasa and it had around 500 monks before. The most revered image inside Ramoche temple is Jowo Mikyo Dorje ( Akshobhaya ), brought to Tibet in the 7 th century as part of the dowry of King Songtsen Gampo’s Nepali consort, Princess Bhirikuti Devi. The image represents the Buddha Shakyamuni at the age of eight years. There are around 100 monks nowadays.
- Day 05: Lhasa/Ganden4300Mt- Drigung-Terdrom hot spiring, 4325Mt Guest house
Today you will be driving to Gaden monastery at the distance of 70 Km.
Ganden Monastery: It is the first monastery of the yellow hat sect, founded in the 14th century by Tsongka psa himself up in a hill at the distance of 60 KM from Lhasa. You can see beautiful Tibetan villages and yaks while you are driving up to the monastery from the main road. You can also see lots of Tibetan villages on the way from Lhasa to the monastery and all those villages are farmers. After the sightseeing, drive to Digung Thil monastery at the distance of 70Km and the road condition is paved so it takes you around 3 hrs to get there. Dhigung Thil monastery is the mother monastery of Dhigung Kagyupa sect and it has more than 600 years history. After finishing the sightseeing there, you will be driving to Tirdom nunnery where there is hot spring. You can enjoy a bath in the medical hot spiring.
- Day 06: Terdrom nunnery-Lhasa, 3650Mts,170Km Gang gyen hotel
Morning, visit nunnery and then You will start your journey after the breakfast and you will be driving along the same way back
- Day 07: Drive from Lhasa to Gyangtse.(3950Mts/ 260Km ) Hotel
You will start your tour at around 9Am from your hotel and then drive towards Gyangtse through 3 big mountain passes, Kampa La, Karo La, Simila respectively. Karola is the highest pass among them which is over 5000Mts with it's most beautiful glaciers, beautiful Yamdrok lake emerged as coral color from the top of Kampala pass. You will have your lunch at Nakartse country which is just between the Yamdrok lake and Karola glaciers.
- Day 08: Drive from Gyangtse to Shigatse. (3900mts/ 90Km ) Hotel on B.B
You will start your tour at around 9Am from your hotel and then drive towards Palchoe monastery for a few minutes. Visit Palchoe monastery and Kubum Pagoda stupa. After the sightseeing, You will have your lunch and then continue your journey to Shigatse by passing one of the biggest farming land in Tibet where people grow barley, wheat, different kinds of vegetables.
Pm visit Tashi Lhunpo monastery and old market of Shigatse.
- Day 09: Drive from Shigatse to Sakya monastery, (4050Mts/ 125KM ) hotel
You will start your tour at around 9.30Am from your hotel and drive through one big mountain passes, Tsola 4500Mts and some beautiful villages on the way. Sakya monastery was built in 12 th century by Khon Konchok Gyelpo from Sakya clan. The monastery was originally built for the schools of Sakya tribe and later on it was expended to the present size by Dogon Chogyel Pakpa. Drogon Chogyel Phakpa is the first Tibetan Lama who took the ruling power in Tibet. Sakya is the mother monastery of Sakyapa sect. The temples of North Sakya were built first and within these temples, the Gorum temple to the northeast was the oldest, built in 1073 by Khon Konchok Gyelpo. The Utse Nyingpa, Utse Sarpa, Manjughosa temples were constructed by Sachen Kunga Nyingpo, Choje Drakpa Gyeltsen and Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyeltsen around the meditation cave of Sachen but most of those temples are invisible now.The temples of South Sakya, composed of one main assembly hall, college buildings, palaces and some chapels were gradually built during the time of Drogon Chogyel Phakpa. The Sakya monastery has 160 monks nowadays.
- Day 10 Sakya monastery-Shigatse-Lhasa, 3650Mts, 430Km Gang Gyen hotel
You will start your tour at around 9.30Am from your hotel and drive along the Bharmaputra river with a landscape of sandy hills, villages, and Rulak Yungdrung ling at the otherside of the river. You will have lunch in a small town called Nyenmo which is the border point between Shigatse and Lhasa . Free afternoon for shopping.
- Day 11 Drive to Airport and fly back
