From the monastery, we drove back to the main road and crossed a pass. From the foot of the pass, we turn rightside and visited Nyenpo Yurtse. From NyenpoYurtse turn off side till Jigdril is a very rich nomadic area where it is full of big nomad tents. The road condition for today is fairly good. Jigdril is also a small county with only one good hotel.

  • Day 18: Jigdril-Dzoge,3500mts,150Km DzogeZhengfu hotel

We drove from hotel at 8 Am and had breakfast on the way in a simple nomad house. The distance from Jigdril to Marchu county or Dzoge Nyima is 150Km and from Jigdril to Ngapa is 69Km. After crossing a pass, we reached the first Marchubridge where we can see the first bend of Marchu. The road condition from Jigdril till Marchucounty is a good one and just after 3Km, we will pass by a big Nyingmapa monastery and there are two big statues outside the monastery, to the right is Guru Rinpoche and to the left is Chenrezig. The road condition from Jigdril till Marchu is a pretty good one but the road from Marchu till the juntion to TaktsangLhamo is really bumpy. From Marchu county to the high way checkpoint where we meet the highway from Lanzhou or Labrang is 69Km. We turned left for TaktsangLhamu and drove around 12Km on the highway and then turn left again for TaktsangLhamo. After driving around 5Km, we reached TaktsangLhamu. On the right side of the valley is the Sertang monastery and on theleftside is the TaktsangLhamo or KirtiNamgyelDechenling. Kirti monastery is so named as TaktsangLhamo is because of it’s location at the cave of tiger and PeldanLhamo. We can visit the caves of PeldanLhamo and tiger as well as a Vajarayogini opposite of tiger’s one. The monastery is said to be visited by KirtiTenpaRabgye in the 15th century and it is visited by generations of masters later and later in around 18th century, KirtiTenpeiGyaltsan established the monastery. The most important object of the monastery is the tomb stupa of the 5th reincarnation of Kirti Rinpoche and PeldanLhamo caves. The assembly hall also must be interesting to visit but because of the shortage of the time, we could not visit the main assembly hall and the tomb stupa of the 5thKirti Rinpoche. The monk let us to visit the residential palace of theKirti Rinpoche. In the residential palace, they have hair of 7th, 11th and 14th Dalai Lama’s in a box and the monk blessed us. The valley where monastery is extremely beautiful with rocky montains, green forest, beautiful stream water. There is also a monastery hotel just nearby the entry of the monastery. The entry ticket is 30RMB per pax. We could not visit Sertang monastery because of the time. We drove back to the main road and took the high way from the toll gate. The distance is 59Km to Dzoge and a very good road. Between Jigdril and Dzoge, they have the most richest and biggest nomad lands in Tibet with full of yaks and sheep in the huge vast grassland. The scenery of this vast grass land on which thousands of thousands of Yak and sheep are grazing is tremendously beautiful. We reached Dzoge, 3500mts by around 8Pm and stayed in a hotel called DatsangYangguangJiudian which is a 3* hotel. ’

  • Day 19: Dzoge-Dzitsa Degu,2100mts,222KmGesang hotel

After breakfast, we went to visit Taktsang monastery. It is a Gelukpa monastery with around 180 monks. The main assembly hall of the monastery has very beautiful statues of BhuddahShakyamuni with his two main disciples, big Maitreya in thecentre, Tsongkapa and his two main disciples. When we went to visit the monastery, the monks were holding a ceremony and all my clients were very keen to see the discipline monk with some ornaments behind his robs and tall body. After visiting the monastery, we drove directly to DzitsaDegu, 2100mts from Dzoge at the distance of 222Km. The road condition is very good until the juntion at Aming( Chuanzhusi ). From Chuanzhusi, we turn leftside and drove in to the valley of Zungchu. From the junction to DzitsaDegu is 88Km. We crossed a pass of 3500mts. From the pass, we have started driving down into a very thick forested gorge with many sigzag road nevertheless, the road condition is still good. It is full of trees until we reached DzitsaDegu. There are quite many villages in the valley before the pass and most of them are Tibetans. They grow barley and different kinds of vegetables. We stayed in Gesang hotel which is a 4* conditioned hotel. Starting from Dzoge, Dzitsadegu and Chuanzhusi, the hotels forced tourists to have dinner in their hotels. Without having dinner, they would not provide breakfast even if the breakfast is included. The distance from Gesang hotel to DzitsaDegu scenic entry gate is just 6Km. AS we reached entry gate, we had to leave our vehicles and take the scenic spot buses. The total distance of the whole scenic spot is around 15Km. The ladnscape is beautiful with many small beautiful belue lakes, extremely beautiful water falls, small lakes into green and yellow colors. You can get on and off the buses at every scenic point. The facility of hotel and restaurant are good except we could not get western food there. The elevation is from 2100 till 3100mts between the different sightseeing view points.

  • Day 20: DzitsaDegu-Chuanzhusi-Sertso Park-Chuanzhusi,3400mts,170KmGyarongXinguan hotel

We drove from Dzitsadegu to the juntion of Chuanzhusi at the distance of 50Km on the same way back and then turn left side and crossed a very foggy pass at the elevation of 3900mts. On the way, we also saw some Yaks. We had to take a cable car for around 5 minutes to get up from the main entry gate. After that, we had to walk for around 40 minutes in a forested trail until we got to the beginning of scenic view point. The main scenic view point of the Sertsopark is just mainly yellow and blue colors of the water, very small water falls, forests, one small Taoist temple, one small Tibetan temple. It was a loop and took us around 5hrs to get the main exit gate. The both valleys of DzitsaDegu and Sertso belong to Ngapa prefecture and most of them are Tibetan inhabitants. The interesting thing in these two areas even including Zungchu county ( Zongpan ) are all Bon followers and they have quite many Bon monasteries in this region. Chuanzhusi is one of the biggest Bon monasteries in Amdo. We drove on the same way back and stayed in a hotel called Jiarongxinguan da Jiudian at Chuanzhusi, 3400mts. The hotel is a newly built one and it has 4* condition.

  • Day 21: Chuanzhusi-Chengdu,340Km Holyday in Express

We drove from Chuanzhusi to Chengdu along the river at the distance of 340Km via Zungchu( Zongpan in Chinese ), Maoxian, Wenchuan, Dujiangyan. The road is quite narrow eventhough it is a paved road. The scenery from Chuanzhusi to Chengdu is not good and I felt very uncomfortable driving in this narrow gorge with a very bad pollution. It was 4Pm when we arrived in Chengdu. We stayed in holiday in Express Chengdu Wuhou which is located at Hongpai Lou. It is not far from Wuhouzhi. The rooms are very good.
