Lhasa to Chung Riwoche tour is one of the unique and authentic Tibet tours. This Tibet tour will lead you to Lhundrup valley which is located to the northeast of Lhasa city at the distance of around 40km and it is a big farming land near Lhasa. Lhundrup valley also has many small monasteries and nunneries and some of them have long history, date back to the 11th century. The Lhundrup valley is a beautiful valley in the summer time with full of Barley fields, mustered flowers and in the winter time, it is the perfect place where you can visit black crane. The Lhundrup valley will be full of black crane in the winter time and it is very much worthy to do Tibet tour in the winter time there as well.

Continue your Tibet tour, Visiting Reting monastery which is the seat of the Reting Rinpoche and a great place where Tsongkapa used to take meditation. Continue from Reting monastery to Namtso lake. Namtso lake is 70km long and 30km wide, making it the second largest saltwater lake on the Tibetan plateau after the lake Kokonor. The average altitude is 4718 m, and the landscape is dominated by the snow peak of Nyenchen Tangla to the southwest. Visit and walk around Tashido peninsula or Tashido hermitage. This renowned hermitage is marked by two lofty sheer rock pinnacles and the cave hermitages are said to have particular associations with Padmasambhava and his consort Yeshe Tsogyel, were frequented by many great Lamas of the past , including the Third Karmapa Rangjung Dorje and Kagyupa schools. Nowadays, they are occupied by occasional hermits of the Nyingma and Kagyu schools. Continue your Tibet tour back to Lhasa and then to the west part of Tibet by visiting the less visited part of the western Tibet including Phuntsoling monastery and Chung Riwoche Stupa. Chung Riwoche Stupa is one of the largest stupa in Tibet and it was built in around 14th century. Finally, your Tibet tour to Everest base camp and then to Nepal Tibet border.

  • Day 01: Chengdu/Lhasa 3,650m Hotel in Lhasa

    You will be landing at Gongkar airport and then driving to Lhasa at the distance of 60 Km and it would take you around an hour drive. On the way you will be visiting Nyethang stone carved Bhudha.

  • Day 02: Lhasa Visit Potala Palace, Norbu Lingka and Jokang temple. Hotel in Lhasa

    Potala Palace is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama,built originally in the 7th century and expended to the present size by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17 th century. The Potala Palace is thirteen stories high and it has more than 1000 rooms. Jokang temple was built in the 7 th century by one of the greatest Tibetan Kings called Songtsen Gampo. The temple is located just in front of your hotel and you can visit the Barkorstreet after the sightseeing of Jokang temple. Housing the most prized Buddhist relic and a 1300 years old Sakyamuni Buddha statue. The main section of the temple is topped with golden roofs found nowhere else except in Tibet . Temple is encircled by Barkhor Bazar with many shops selling all manner of goods from trinkets to Tantric ritual objects. Norbulingka palace was ounded in the 18th century was the summer palace of Dalai Lama on the bank of KyichuRiver . There are fountains, pavilions, terraces and stone tables where visitors may rest amidst the numerous kinds of flowers and fauna. This small palace has odd mix of traditional Tibetan architecture and modern paraphernalia, such as a Philips radiogram and Victorian bathroom fittings.

  • Day 03: Sightseeing tour to Drepung and Sera Monastery and Barkhor Bazar Hotel in Lhasa

    Morning, visit Drepung monastery which is the largest monastery of Gelukpa sect in Tibetan Buddhism. Sera monastery and see the most interesting monks debating. Sera monastery was built in the 14th century by Jamchen Choeje,a famous desciple of Tsongkapa, the founder of the yellow hat.Sera is one of the six biggest monasteries in Tibet .

  • Day 04: Lhasa/Ganden 4,005m-Lhasa (120km) Hotel in Lhasa

    Today you will be driving to Gaden monastery at the distance of 60 Km . Ganden Monastery. It is the first monastery of the yellow hat sect, founded in the 14th century by Tsongkapsa himself up in a hill at the distance of 60 KM from Lhasa . You can see beautiful Tibetan villages and yaks while you are driving up to the monastery from the main road.. You can also see lots of Tibetan villages on the way from Lhasa to the monastery and all those villages are farmers. After the sightseeing, you will drive back to Lhasa.

  • Day 05: Lhundrup/Reting 4,100m /Damxung 4,500m

    Today you will be driving to Reting monastery at the distance of around 90Km via Chakla pass and it will take you between 3 and 4 hrs to get there. Reting is the moanstery of the Kadam pa sect in Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Dom tonpa in the 11th century. The monastery is beautifull located in the sandle wood, like surrounded by a small sandal wood forest.

  • Day 06: Damxung/Namtso 4,718m/60km Guest house in Namtso

    Today we will be driving to Lake Namtso ,180Km ,takes you there around 4 hrs . You will start the visit to Reting monastery for an hour starting from 9 Am and then at around 10Am you will head towards to Namtso lake and get you there around 1 Pm. In the afternoon, Explore the lakeand Tashi Do hermitage with numerous caves that you can visit while walking around Tashi Do hermitage.

  • Day 07: Namtso-Tsurphu-Lhasa (3650m/275km)

    Drive to Lhasa and on the way, visit Tsurphu monastery . On the way you will be passing by beautiful villages and they are both Nomads and farmers. Tsurpu monastery is the mother monastery of the Kagyupa sect founded by the first Karmapa. Karmapa is the first Tibetan reincarnated Lama.

  • Day 08: Drive from Lhasa-Samye monastery-Tsetang.(3600Mts/ 180Km ) Tsetang Hotel

    You will start your tour at 8Am and drive along the Lhasa river where it joins the Bharmaputra river at Chushurbridge. You will leave your vehicle at Samye ferry and take a motor boat to Samye monastery by crossing the Bharmaputrariver which takes an hour to get to the other side river and then we will take monastery bus or truck to which takes half an hour to get to Samye monastery. After the Samye monastery sightseeing, you will have lunch in the monastery restaurant and then continue your journey back to ferry side and get to Tsetang after half an hour drive. We will directly drive to YumbuLhakang which is 30Km outside of Tsetang town. Visit YumbuLhakang and Traduk temple on the way back.

  • Day 09: Tsetang/Samding/Gyantse 3,950m/356km Hotel in Gyantse

    Today you will be driving at the distance of 380Km which will take you around 6hrs. You will be passing by Yamdrok holy lake, NyochenKansang and it¡¯s glaciers. You will be visiting Samding monastery from Nakartse town just before Noejing Kansang mountain.

  • Day 10: Gyantse/Shalu/Shigatse 3,900m/98km Hotel in Shigatse

    Today you will be visiting Palchoe Monastery which was built in around 15 th century by local Chieftain RebtanKunsang as well as the Kubum stupa for the funerals of the death mother of RebtanKunsang. Gyantse was an important town on the trade route to India and Nepal .. Tour highlights Kumbum Stupa housing 100,000 Buddha and other statues and the towering remnants of Gyantse fort, attacked by the British Expeditionary forces of Col. Francis Younghusband early 20th century . After that you will be driving to Shigatse at the distance of 90 Km which will take you around two hrs and enroute visit Shalu monastery Wangchuk. It is the second biggest city in Tibet . .

  • Day 11: Shigatse/Phuntsoling/Lhatse 4,050/180km. Hotel in Lhatse

    Morning, visit Tashi Lhunpo monastery. Tashi Lhunpo monastery is the biggest monastery in the Tsang region and it was built in around 15 th century by the first Dalai Lama GedrunDrup and it is one of the 6 biggest Gelukpa monasteries in Tibet . In the afternoon, you will be visiting the old market of Shigatse from which you can see lots of different of Tibetan traditional things from the market.The complex of temples and tombs houses the bodies of a succession of Panchan Lamas and 15th Dalai Lama. The main temple houses 26-meter/85 feet tall statue of Maitreya Buddha. The main interesting wall Frescoes have been completed by Neweri Painters from Nepal and by Kashmir painters. After the sightseeing in Shigatse, you will be driving to Lhatse via Phuntsoling monastery at the distance of 180Km which will take you around 5 hrs and enroute you will visit Jonang Phuntsoling monastery. The monastery was built in around 13th century and it is the school of Jonangpa of Tibetan Buddhism.

  • Day 12: Lhatse/Chung Riwoche/Lhatse (4050m/240km) Hotel in Lhatse

    Today you will be driving more than 200Km for both way and it will take you around 4 hrs for one way since the road condition is not good.ChungRiwoche stupa was built in around 15 th century and it had association with both Sakyapa school and Tangthong GyalpoChaksma Tradition.

  • Day 13: Lhatse-Sakya-Sheggar-Mt. Everest Base Camp 5200m/290km Guest house in Rongbuk

    Today you will be driving at the distance of 290Km and it will take you around 6 hrs. Sakay monastery was built in 12 th century by KonKunchokGyalpo as the school of Sakya pa sect and later on it was expended by Dogon Choegyel Pakpa. It is the mother monastery of Sakya pa sect.The monastery was originally built for the schools of Sakya tribe and later on Dogon Chogyel Pakpa who was also the first Tibetan Lama who ruled Tibet expended it to the present size. Continue your journey to Rongbuk Monastery.

  • Day 14: Mt. Everest BC /Zhangmu 2,300m/250km Hotel in Zhangmu

    Explore Everest Base camp from Rongbuk Monastery by walk which will take 2 hrs. The Rongbuk Glacier is an impressive frozen ocean of ice waves the views of the glacier is the trail that expeditions use to begin their climbs of Everest Base Camp I, set in the barren world of moraine hills under beautifully sculpted yellow-orange cliffs. Afternoon, you will be driving at the distance of 180 Km with a view of great Himalayan range including mount Everest, Joyo, Shisha Bangmaetc. It will take you around 5 hrs.

  • Day 15: Zhangmu/Kathmandu

    Today you will do the immigration at Dzangmu and drive down to Friendship Bridge at the distance of 8 Km and then handover group to Nepalese agent.
