- Day 1 Arrival in Chengdu
Arrive in Chengdu, which is called “the Land of Abundance�?You will meet your guide at airport. And then we will visit Wide and Narrow Folk Alley. It’s used to be home to officials in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and among the city’s cultural heritage sites still intact today.
- Day 2 Chengdu Tour
Visit The Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Centre in the morning, which is one of the important centers in China for the captive conservation of giant pandas. After lunch, we drive 40km to visit Sanxindui Museum. It is situated in the northeastern part of the state-protected Sanxindui ruin by the bank of the Yangzi River. Two large sacrificial pits were found in 1986 boast the most important archaeological finds on the Sanxindui Ruins for the past half century. The exposure of a large number of spectacular relics created a great sensation, making the Sanxindui site well known to the world.
- Day 3 Chengdu - Hailuogou
After breakfast, we will drive to Hailuogou Valley, which lies at the foot of MinyakGangkar Mountain. It is one of the most beautiful glaciers in the lower altitude, closing to Chengdu at the distance of around 200Km.
You can stay in the resort and take bath in the hotspring in Hailuogou.
The sparkling modern glacier rushes down from the high and steep valley, spraying millions of water blooms, changing the quite valley into a pure water palace. Ice holes and ice Bridge make people feel like entering into a Crystal Palace.
- Day 4 Hailuogou - Kangding
Drive to No.3 Base Camp, walk through the virgin forest, and get to the Kangga Glacier. Then drive from Luding to Kangding, You will arrive at Kangding - the capital city of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the afternoon. Upon arrive visit Anjue Monastery, experience the mysterious Tibetan Buddhism.
- Day 5 Kangding - Xinduqiao - Yajiang
Depart Kangding after breakfast, we will cross the Mt. Zheduo at an elevation of 4200m, visit the Xinduqiao which famed for the scenery, and pass the Mt. Gaoershi, arrive Yajiang in the afternoon. Approximately 6 hours drive with 150km tarred road, overnight in Yajiang.
- Day 6 Yajiang - Litang - Daocheng - Riwa
Drive to Daocheng after breakfast, cross the Mt. Jianziwan, Mt. Kaizila and Litang, Daocheng grassland, see the famous Mt. Haizi. In this route, we see the spectacular Sichuan-Tibet Highway, Snow Mountain, plateau glacier and grassland. There is approximately 6-7 hours drive for the Yajiang to Daocheng 300km road, besides the 40km gravel road of Litang - Daocheng, the rest is all tarred. Daocheng to Riwa (Shangrila) village, although 80km gravel road, however the roadbed is perfect, it drives approximately 1.5 hours. Overnight in local Tibetan style guesthouse, 2-4 people a room not air-conditioned and independent water closet equipped.
- Day 7 Riwa
After breakfast, we will drive to the portal of Yading Nature Reserve, horse-riding to Chonggu Temple, see the scenery of Chonggu Temple and holy peak Xiannairi, and continued ride to Luorong Pasture, see the another holy peak Yangmaiyong, Xiannairi and Luorong Pasture, back the Yading village, then drive back to Riwa.
- Day 8 Riwa - Xiangcheng - Derong
After a round tour through Riwa, the about 370 km long drive leads to Derong, passing Daocheng, Sangdui and Xiangcheng. In Sangdui, you will visit the Pengbo Monastery of the white religious group of the Tibetan Buddhism (Kagyupa), which is located at a lake amidst the treeless steppe. On the way to Xiangcheng, you will visit another Tibetan Village and get to know the lives there. Xiangcheng (2,836 m above sea level) is a small village with whitewashed Tibetan houses, which look like small fortresses and are spread between the fields in the valley.
- Day 9 Derong - Deqin
Derong is a Tibetan word, which means kloof. This term refers to the deep canyon, which ranges in North-South direction, and in which a tributary stream of the Yangtze flows. This section of the Yangtze is called Jingsha (Golden Sand) River. On the further run, the road turns into the Valley of the Yangtze, which will leave at the border of the Yunnan province.
Meili Snow Mountain, also known as Prince Snow Mountain, is located 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) northeast of Deqin County of Yunnan Province. The mountain sits on the border of Yunnan Province and Tibet, where the three famous rivers, namely the Jinsha, Mekong (Nu) and Salwen (Lancang) flow. Meili Snow Mountain boasts numerous snow-clad ridges and peaks, thirteen of which exceed 6,000 meters (19.685 feet) above the sea level. The most splendid view is of the Kawagebo Peak, the highest in Yunnan Province rising about 6,740 meters (22,112.86 feet). It is still a 'virgin peak' for no one has ever reached the top. Thus, Meili Snow Mountain is a challenge for all mountain explorers from home and abroad.
Visitors are treated to spectacular view from all vantage points. The continuous mountain ridges feature snowy peaks and the sun throws golden lights on the low-floating clouds which form various extraordinary shapes, affording yet another splendid view! But mostly, the mountain presents itself as mystery when dense fog and clouds made it a gleaming sight to see and you could hardly resist the temptation to unveil it. You can have a panoramical view of the thirteen towering peaks from the Feilai Temple.
- Day 10 Dechen-Shangrila.184Km
Drive up over the pas,4250mts with beautiful view of Baima snowcapped mountain. Drive down towards the Yangtse river gorge and glimpse the first bend of Yangtse river. Eat lunch in Ponzera and continue to Shangrila. Hotel
- Day 11: Sightseeing Shangrila.
In Shangrila, visit SongtsenlingGompa (built 1679), an important teaching monastery, visit a local Tibetan village. Dinner in the Old Town where the local Tibetans dance every evening in the main square.
- Day 12: Shangrila-Lijiang,180Km.
After breakfast, drive along the Tibetan villages located in the dense forest and down to the tiger leaping gorge. We will again cross the Yangtse river and drive up the pass and reach Lijiang by lunch time. 40Km before reaching Lijiang, we will visit Driyun monastery.
- Day 13 Sightseeing in Lijiang.
In and around Lijiang; morning walk through Black Dragon Pool Park to learn about the Dongba shaman culture of the Naximinority. Lunch in Yuhu village at the foot of Jade Dragon Mountain , visit home of Dr Joseph Rock, 20 th century National Geographic plant collector and Naxiexpert. Spend the evening exploring the old town.
- Day 14Lijiang-Dali. 122Km
Driving at the distance of 122Km from Lijiang to Dali which is located at the west shore of the lake Erhai. Reach Dali by lunch time and afternoon visit Erhailake and explore the old town of Dali while visiting the three Pagodas stupas.
- Day 15 Dali-Kunming,412Km
Drive from Dali to Xiaguan town at the distance of around 130Km and then from Xiaguan, we will take the express high way to Kunming.
- Day 16 Fly from Kunming to Chengdu.
Fly home
