Lhasa to Kyirong Dzongka tour is a unique and less visited part of Tibet travel. It is started in Lhasa and visiting the cultural site of Lhasa city and then drive towards western Tibet including a visit to Gyantse and Shigatse, the two largest towns of the western Tibet. Continue Your Tibet travel from Shigatse to Sakya monastery, one of the oldest and most historical monastery in the western Tibet. After Sakya, you will driving to Chung Riwoche stupa which is the highlight of this Tibet travel and is a very least visited part of Tibet. The stupa of Chung Riwoche overlooks the Barhmaputra river from it's vantage point at the base of Mount Pal Riwoche and the ruins of Chung Riwoche monastery. It was constructed during the period 1449-1456, and had associations with both the Sakyapa school and Tangtong Gyelpo's own Chakzampa tradition. In Chung Riwoche, there used to have many traditional iron bridges which were built by Tangtong Gyelpo but nowadays, we can only the see some ruins of the bridges. Tangtong Gyelpo was the founder of the Tibetan opera and he created how to build bridges in Tibet. The stupa of Chung Riwoche has eight storeys and a basement with its own interior circumambulatory walkway.

    Drive Lhasa to Gyantse( 260 KM ) southeast of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyangchu River . It takes around 8 hours to reach Gyantse crossing the Kampala Pass ( 4800m ) via Yamdrok Lake and Mt. Noejing Kangsar Glacier. Hotel in Gyantse

  • Day 5: Gyantse-Shigatse-Sakya monastery (4050m/240km)

    Morning sightseeing in Gyantse Khubum and Pelkor monastery then drive to Shigatse. (Khubum Choten and Monastery was built in 15th century by Rabten Kunsang and first Penchen Lama. Afternoon sightseeing Tashilonpo Monastery which was built in 1447 by first Dalai Lama. Conitnue to Sakya monastery at the distance of 150km. Hotel in Sakya

  • Day 6: Sakya to Ngamring county ( 4300m/110km) Hotel in Ngaring

    Morning, visit Sakya monastery. The Sakya Monastery tradition is one of the four main Buddhist schools in Tibet . It was the monastery from where the whole of Tibet was governed during the period of the Sakyapa hegemony (1268- 1365) and even now there are buildings of historic important to be seen. Drive to Ngamring County, the county capital of Ngamring is located to the north east of Gekha village on a turn off, ( 60 KM ) from Lhatse, and ( 240 KM ) from Saga and to the northeast of mount Yakri (Yakpo Gangri, 5614 meters,) and to the south of Lake Langtso.

  • Day 7: Ngamring county to Chung Riwoche-Saga (4640m/336km) Hotel in Saga

    Drive Ngamring to Chung Riwoche ( 60 KM ) it takes about 2 hours to Chung Riwoche. Sightseeing of Chung Riwoche stupa. (The stupa of Chung Riwoche overlooks the Barhmaputra, from its vantagepoint at the base of mount Pal Riwoche and the ruins of Chung Riwoche monastery. It was constructed during the period 1449-56 and had associations with both the Sakyapa school and TangtongGyelpo 's own Chang Tsammpa tradition. Drive to Saga ( 166 km ) it takes around 4 hours. (Saga country in North Lato is the region occupied by the upper Brahmaputra and its tributaries: the RukyokTsangpo and KyibukTsangpo. The country's capital is located at Kyakyaru, 58 km from the Raga junction on the North Lato or Lhatse road, 105 Km from Dzongka on the Zhangmu or south Lato road, and 146 Km from Drongpa on the southern route Mount kailash .   • Day 8: Saga to Kyirong Dzongka (2600m/197km) Hotel in Kyirong

    Drive to Kyirong Zongka( 197 KM ) it takes 4 hours. Kyirong country in South Lato occupies the valleys of the KyirongTsangpo River (Trishuli) and its tributaries as well as the adjacent Gungtang-Chu headwaters and the basin of Lake PelkhuTso .
