Nyingtri Lhasa Overland Tour is an easy Tibet tour that you will fly to Nyingtri ( Bai in Chinese ) and do a round Tibet tour sightseeing in Nyingtri. Nyingtri is the capital city of the eastern forest region of Tibet, Kongpo in Tibetan and it is the lowest altitude area in Tibet so flying from Chengdu to Nyingtri and over-landing to Lhasa is the Tibet where you are traveling in the lowest places of Tibet.

Kongpo is a large traditional territory in south western Kham and it is located to the east of Lhasa. Kongpo is a strong hold for Bon religion, the original religion of Tibet with many of the religion's most holy pilgrim sites found in the forested hills around Nyingtri. Nyingtri is very famous for the natural landscape including Namchak Barwa snow mountain, Luang international forest resort, Darksum lake and Yarlong Tsangpo (Barhmaputra) grand canyon is renowned for its longest and deepest valley in the world. Her turbulent rapids, arduous gorge, sky scraping peaks, exuberant forests are full of attraction. Due to the limit of the fierce environment and poor transportation,the grand canyon was only accessed by seldom scientists teams. Eventhough you can not access to the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, the other extremely unique and beautiful natural landscape and two of the very old temples, Lamaling or Sangtok Peri in Nyintri and Buchu Lhakang makes this Tibet tour very attractive and charming.

Crossing the highest pass of Kongpo Barla at the elevation of over 5000 m above sea level. Kongpo Barla is the bordered place between Lhasa and Kongpo region. Drive down the valley from the pass and pass by some beautiful Tibetan nomad camps and Rutok hot spring. Continue down the gorge and Gyama valley, arrival in Gaden monastery. Ganden is the mother monastery of the Gelukpa sect and it is one of the largest monasteries in Tibet, founded in the 14th century by the great master called Tsongkapa, the founder of the Gelukpa sect. After an hour drive, you will reach Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet and it is also the cultural heart of Tibet so the next couple of days Tibet tour sightseeing will be full of cultural and heritage site of Tibet.

  • Day 1:Chengdu – Nyingtri,2900m/50Km Mingzhu grand hotel

    Depart from Chengdu, meet at a designated location (0600AM), and transfer to Chengdu Shuangliu airport. Arrive at Nyingtri Minling airport which is at an elevation of 2900 meters, drive to Bai which is the main city of the eastern forest region of Tibet. Nyingtri is full of forest which is different from other parts of Tibet region where they are more located in the desert and wild plateau. On the way, you will be visiting Lamaling temple and BuchuLhakang. Lhamaling temple is one of the Nyingmapa school temples in Nyingtri and Bhchu Lhakang is one of the twelve different branch temples which were built during the Tibet King called SongtsenGampo in the 7th century.

  • Day 2:Bai-Lunang-Bai Mingzhu grand hotel

    forest scenic spot -Bai after breakfast,sightseeing on the view stage. Then drive to the center pier of Yalong Tsangpo scenery area, enroute sightseeing holy spring, king of the mulberry trees, the celestial burial platform,then embark the yacht heading for Dapaitown,watching the water burial platform. After lunch, the essence of this itinerary finally unveiled today. the first bend of yarlongtsangpo river and Namchak Barwa peak are breath taking imposing. you can take photos by the grand canyon monument.then return to Bai, pass by the giant cypress trees.

  • Day 3: Bai-Darksum-tso, 3200m/ Guest house

    After breakfast,head to lake Darksumsto,which is the national forest park and it is a beautiful green land with forest and surrounded by dense forest which gives you a total different view from the central part and western part of Tibet. Take the scenic bus into the lake, 15 minutes bus ride, visit the island of small monastery and cave of Guru Rinpoche.

  • Day 4: Darksum Lake-Ganden monastery-Lhasa,3650/400Km Tibet Heritage hotel

    Continue your journey up to the valley and reaching the pass of Bhala which is over 5000m above sea level. From the top of the pass, you are entering into the Lhasa area and will see some nomad camps, pastureland, farmers on the way. Enroute visit Ganden monastery which is the mother monastery of the Yellow hat school. Yellow hat school or Gelukpa sect was found by the master Tsongkapa in the 14th century and it is one of the largest schools in Tibetan Buddhism.

  • Day 5: Sightseeing Lhasa, Potala Palace, Jokang temple and Bharkor. Tibet Heritage Hotel on B.B

    After Breakfast, you will start from the hotel and drive towards Potala square. Leave the car behind and must be ready and take your challenge to climb more than hundred steps of the PotalaPalance. The Potala Palace was originally built in the 7th century by Tibetan King SongtsanGampo but the one to the present size was expended by the 5th Dalaia Lama. It has thirteen storey’s high with more than a thousand rooms and divided with White and Red Palace. After the sightseeing of the Potala Palace, walk around the Potala Palace with pilgrimages and you can experience the ancient tradition of Tibetans, walking around Potala, praying matras. The Kora takes you around 40 minutes. It is also good to acclimatize to the high altitude. After lunch, you will visit Jokang temple. Jokang temple is the oldest temple of Tibet which was built by King SongtsanGampo in the 7th century and it is housed to the most sacred statue of BhudhaShakyamuni brought from mainland China by the princess Wangchen of the Tang court. Walking around the Bharkor is another interesting thing during your tour in lhasa. You will meet many different people in Bharkor.

  • Day 6: Sightseeing Lhasa, Pabongka, Chubsang nunnery and Sera monastery. Hotel on B.B

    Drive to and explore Pabongka Monastery; hike downhill to Chupsang Nunnery; walk to Sera Monastery, where we have a picnic lunch; depending on availability, make your own prayer flag at Sera’s printing center and witness monks debate age-old scripts in the courtyard.

  • Day 7: Excursion to Tsurphu monastery and back to Lhasa, 140Km Tibet Heritage hotel

    After breakfast, drive through the Qinghai highway for around 35Km and then you will drive leftside from the main road to TSurphu monastery at the distance of around 25Km. The road condition is very good and you will enjoy some beautiful villages and finally reaching Tsurphu monastery. Tsurphu monastery was the first monastery of the Kagyupa sect or school and it si the seat of the Kamarpa Lama who is living in India at the present day.

  • Day 8:Lhasa-Chengdu
