Langtang valley trek is a short trekking tour in Nepal and it is started in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal and visit some of the most famous scenic sights in Kathmandu including the Boudhanath and Swayambunath stupa which are listed in the UNESO world heritage site. Langtang valley is located in the northern Himalayan region, close to the border between Nepal and Tibet and it is Nepal’s first Himalayan national park, becoming home to the number of Flora and Fauna; wild life including the migratory birds, Panda, monkey and Pika so on.

After 2015 earth quake, the border between Nepal and Tibet has been opened and it is called as Syabrubesi at Nepal side and Kyirong in Tibet. Kyirong is a very sacred place for Tibetans because it is the birthplace of Milerapa, the greatest Yogi in the 11th century who got enlightenment within life time. Before Langtang valley trek was not very popular by the tourists because of the transportation as you can get to the Langtang valley only by jeeps and it takes 10-12 hours before the border was opened because of the bad road condition. After the border was opened, the road is much better than before and there are more and more tourists traveling through Langtang valley and going to Tibet so there are more tourists doing Langtang valley trek nowadays and it is one of the best trekking tour in the northern Himalayan region of Nepal.

If you have enough time, it is the best idea to do this short Langtang valley trek before traveling to Mount Kailash or Everest basecamp in Tibet so that you will acclimatize to the high altitude properly before starting adventure tour to Tibet and you will succeed Mount Kailash pilgrimage tour and Everest basecamp tour in Tibet without any altitude problem. Langtang valley is home to Tamangs, an ethnic mountain community, and rare Himalayan flora and fauna. Explore Langtang National Park and villages along the Tamang Heritage Trail. Tamangs ethnic group is believed that they originally came from Tibet during the time of Tibetan King Songtsan Gampo in the 7th century and Tamangs in Tibetan means a group of horse barrel so the tradition and culture of Tamangs in the Langtang valley is the same as Tibetans. They all believe in Tibetan Buddhism, most of the older people in the region, they speak Tibetan and practice all Tibetan traditions including wedding festival, visiting monasteries and temples etc.

During Langtang valley trek, you will visit Kyangjin Gompa. It is a beautiful monastery and interact with monks, take meditation in the monastery assembly hall, asking monks how their daily Buddhist practice and studies are taken. Visit a cheese factory and witness how they produce fresh and organic yak cheese. When this devastating earthquake, hit Nepal in the year 2015, Langtang was the worst affected regions in Nepal so Langtang, needs more visitors to help the locals to re-build their hometown. By choosing this Langthang valley trek, you will be contributing directly to the welfare of local mountain communities and seeing the most beautiful view of snow capped mountain and glacier lakes.
