Kyirong border opened for foreign tourist. Tibet-Nepal overland Journey begins

As kyirong border opened for tourist from third nationalities. a beautiful Tibet-Nepal over land Tour begins. Kyirong, Located in the south-western part of Tibet is a county of newly established Shigatse in the Tibet Autonomous Region is known for its mild climatic condition and abundant vegetation which is unusual for the Tibetan plateau. It is also referred to as “Back Garden of Mt. Everest”.

The closure of Zhangmu border or the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge due to recent natural calamity in Nepal has disturbed flow of travelers getting in and out of Tibet to a great extent. It has also effected the trade flow between the two countries.

 

In order to substitute the closure, Kyirong border is now officially opened for tourists from third countries. It was indeed a good news for travelers getting in and out of Tibet as it saves the cost incurred on the flight plus driving through Kyirong offers a great Tibet-Nepal overland Tour with valley of tremendous beauty. It is the birth place of Milarepa and also referred as “Valley of Happiness”. The valley is surrounded by majestic Himalayan ranges. Langthang National Park is an added attraction on the way.

 

The reopening of the Kyirong border has seen the revival of tourism in this less visited part of Tibet. Tibet Kailash Mansarovar Tour and Mt. Important Notice on visiting world heritage on your Tibet Travels and Tours.

Potala Palace:

Potala Palace is an important world heritage site. With an average of 5000 people visiting the world heritage on everyday basis during their Tibet Travels and Tours. Booking the entry ticket to the Palace  has undergone many changes over the years. In order to have an easy and convenient access for maximum people to the Palace on daily basis, the management committee has ruled out the earlier entry restriction to the Palace and now we can book as many entry ticket as possible. An indeed a good news.

 

Jokhang Temple

Jokhang Temple has been an important pilgrimage point for thousands of Buddhist followers and a key tourist attraction during their Tibet Travels and Tours. In contradiction to the internal temple size, the daily number of people entering the temple is very high therefore the temple’s management committee came to a common decision as below;

The entry ticket to Jokhang Temple should now be booked 1 day in advance in order to cope up with the ongoing concerns like crowd, temple space and the security of the heritage site. Entry ticket to the Temple should be booked within 1500hrs – 1900hr of the previous day. Your next days visit to Jokhang Temple schedule from 8:30 to 12:00

Happy Monsoon-Monsoon Tibet Travel tips that you might need to take a look

Lhasa: Thursday June 22nd 2017: Monsoon in Tibet just kicked off. Tibet experience monsoon during the month of June to August. It also happens to be the peak season for tourist flooring into Tibet.  There are essential precautions need to be aware of during your Tibet travel in the monsoon season.  Followings are the things which need to be taken care of when you Tibet travel falls on monsoon season;

  1. Heavy Downpours usually occurs during the night.  it is advisable to schedule your flight in the morning or noon to avoid flight delay due to rain.
  2. Make sure you itinerary doesn’t include any high peak climbing to avoid thunderbolt or lightnings
  3. Make sure you bring enough clothes to keep yourself warm during monsoon to avoid Cold.
  4. it is advisable to equip yourself with raincoat and umbrellas to avoid getting drenched during your Sight Seeing in Tibet.
  5. Make sure your drinking water is either boiled or filtered to avoid water borne diseases during monsoon.
  6. Don’t encourage yourself camping near river side during monsoon. its always dangerous.
  7. Make sure you unplug your digital devices during downpours. Switch them off.
  8. Check the weather forecast frequently and Plan your Tibet Travel accordingly to make sure you don’t miss any beautiful things that Tibet has to offer.

Changes that need to be aware of as a Travel Agent

Good news for all the travel agents in Tibet and Nepal and also to all the tourists coming to Tibet via Kathmandu. Necessary Changes has been made and announced in terms of business day operation associated with the application of China visa from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu to get entry into Tibet.  Previously the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu operates only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the Group Visa application process however due to the peak tourist season both in Nepal and Tibet, The days of operation has been changed and the concerned office is now available from Monday till Friday. Application of Group Visa received on any of the above mentioned working day will be approved and delivered on the next business day. Thanks to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu that made Travel Agent’s work more convenient.

A Sunday Session with Mr. Thomas Zwahlen from Himalaya Tours

Tibet Shambhala Adventure had a very informative session on Sunday from Mr. Thomas Zwahlen. Having rich experiences in the field of trekking, Mr. Thomas has been trekking around Himalayas for more than two decades, exploring every corners of Himalayas. His experiences with Himalayan nomads are probably the richest. A man with multi-skills, he has been a tour guide, tour leader, and most probably the exploration of Himalaya is on his finger tips. He is also an amazing photographer, some of his collections are really stunning that you don’t want to miss going through.  He is currently running Himalaya Tours which is the top Himalayan trip selling company.  Having Partnership with Tibet Shambhala adventure. we are happy to invite him for training and interactive session. The session began at 10:00am on Sunday Morning in our office detailing about his experiences in trekking around Himalayas followed by introduction on Himalayan Tours and its programs in Tibet. The group lunch with Mr. Thomas was well organized by a river side followed by sessions on trekking dos and don’ts including subjects on first aid, Acute Mountain Sickness, and other health related issues during trekking. The session is followed by exhibiting different trekking tools from Himalaya Tour and the ways to use them during trekking i.e. convenient water filter tools, tenting techniques and medical care  etc. The one day session concluded with a get together dinner. Thank you Mr. Thomas and Himalaya Tour for the very informative session. Tibet Shambhala Adventure is looking forward for this joint venture.

One of our Mount Everest Base Camp group tour has finally made it. According to our travel guide, weather has been reportedly perfect this morning. Visa Application Schedule and Proceedures

According to the latest information released from Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, The new regulation has been imposed to ensure smooth processing of Visa application.  Visas application center will be opened on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.   Visa application received on any business day above will not be processed and issued on the same day evening as it was processed previously . The new regulation  allows one business day to process the visa application.  Applicant will receive visa in the next day. For example; Visa applied on Monday morning will be processed and issued on Tuesday evening.

Travel News on Shisha Pangma Base Camp and Shisha Pangma Advanced Base Camp

Lhasa: With the Trekking and hiking in mountainous regions gaining momentum this spring. Shisha Pangma base camp would be one of the best and challenging destination for those mountaineer however according to Tibet Mountaineering Association, due to recent natural disaster in Nepal and its aftershock, it encourages and permits mountaineers to attempt till Shisha Pangma Base Camp and not the Shisha Pangma Advanced Based Camp.

According to the source: The recent earthquake in Nepal and its aftershock has made many mountaineers to abandon their climbing mission. Tibet Mountaineering Association is sad to have lost two of its members while climbing the Shisha Pangma Advance Base Camp which still features a fresh impact of recent natural disaster in Nepal and its aftershock.
Source disclosed the ideal time to climb the advance base camp would be around autumn 2017 and spring 2018. The expedition should not be encouraged to take place during summer season due to heavy downpours particularly in these regions.

They eat continental food, drink different kinds of alcoholics soft drinks etc, wear different of kinds of modern clothes including baggy jeans, T shirts, skirts etc, live in a mixture of Tibetan traditional and modern houses or complete western styled houses, finding girl friends or boy friends before the marriage or without the parents arrangement.
