First 3 days- Lhasa Sight Seeing Tour

Before making it to the Based Camp, we understand the importance to get any traveler acclimatized properly in Lhasa in order to prevent you from getting High Altitude Sickness while ascending to Mt. With more than 1300 years of history and recognized as “ World Heritage” by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple are two of the most important attractions in Lhasa. Besides, taking a walk around the ancient Barkor Street during your free afternoon would offer you an authentic experience of your Tibet Tour.

 

On the fourth day, we will be driving you from Lhasa to Shigatse and your journey to Mt. Everest Base Camp is just started. Covering about 350km on an altitude of 3900m, Yamdrok lake, Karola Glacier and Kubum Pagoda Stupa are some of the major attractions on your way. Staying overnight in Shigatse will allow you to explore the second largest city in Tibet. The city has a history going back more than 600 years and it is the traditional seat of Panchen Lama.  Tashi Lhunpo monastery is one of the main attractions in Shigatse, with more than 600 years of History. The Monastery holds great importance to Tibet Buddhism. You are now about 300 kilometers (about 186 miles) away from the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest.

 

On the 5th day morning, we will be driving from Shigatse to Rongbuk, covering about 340km on an altitude of 5000m through two big mountain passes called Gyatso la Pass ( 5220m) and Pangla Pass (5000m). You will have your first glimpse of the world highest mountain from the foot of Gyatso La Pass. And don’t forget to enlarge your camera pixel to capture the moment of an adventure of life time.

 

 

It is about two hrs. Trek or Hike on the 6th day to the Mt. Everest Base Camp and you are officially at the base of the World’s Highest Mountain at an altitude of 8,848 meters (29029ft). The next two days we will be driving you back to Lhasa via Sakya. Driving along the Brahmaputra River always gives you a pleasant experience with those unique landscapes.
